I am proud to announce the launch of our new website in June of 2013! With this new site we have decided to take a fresh approach to blogging for the HVAC industry. As somewhat of a novice to the heating and cooling business myself, I think people have a lot of the same questions as I do, like: what is a HSPF rating? Does setting back my thermostat really save money? How can I tell if my utility bills are too high? With this in mind, we have decided to have an open forum Question & Answer format for blogging. We will be bringing back frequently asked questions and situations from the field, as well as answering your web inquiries. Our hope is to offer a well-researched and fresh perspective to your heating and cooling questions. We are looking forward to your questions and feedback!
First things first… before I start using the acronym HVAC, what does it mean?
The acronym stands for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. HVAC is the technology of indoor and vehicular environmental comfort. HVAC system design is a sub-discipline of mechanical engineering, based on the principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Refrigeration is sometimes added to the field’s abbreviation as HVAC&R or HVACR. – wikepedia.com
